A suicidal man gets saved by an angel in the most NSFW way possible.
John Leslie's "Angels", one of the auteur's worth watching films for VCA, stars Peter North as a man on the edge, who decides to kill himself. Guardian angel Tom Byron (sound familiar?) comes to show him the error of his ways and in the process shows our hero as well as us many interesting and erotic sexual encounters.
Direction
Leslie actually tries narrative cohesion before the inevitable.
Production
Surprisingly ambitious fantasy framing for the genre.

Director
John Leslie
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
John Leslie was one of few adult directors of the era who consistently attempted narrative features rather than vignettes. Savannah, who plays Angel, was one of the biggest stars of early 90s adult cinema before her tragic death in 1994.
This represents the brief 'golden age' of adult film attempting legitimacy through genre parody and actual scripts—before the internet collapsed the industry's budget and ambition simultaneously.
