He was born in 1933. He worked in journalism in 1948. He published a collection of short stories titled On the Road. He also published a novel titled She Was a Virgin (1952). Before turning to the cinema, he obtained a distinction in directing and editing for television from Vienna, and worked in 1958 as a director for Baghdad TV.
