Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Each episode was written specifically to showcase the acting range of each team's center member, a rarity for idol-focused productions. Mayu Watanabe reportedly improvised several of Futaba's quieter reaction shots.
The cassette player as time-travel device deliberately evokes 1990s Japanese youth dramas like 'Long Vacation,' nodding to when Yasushi Akimoto's writing first dominated television. The anachronism hit different for Japanese audiences who grew up on those shows.
