Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Born from a 2005 short film Scott Ryan made for $3,000, then sat on for years until FX came calling. The entire show is basically DIY.
The show's genius is making Ray's violence boring—it's paperwork, not poetry. That's the point, and it's devastating.

Reactions from the web
Talk about one of the best shows that no one talked about. Heavily slept on. Glad they got to finish it on their own terms without being canceled

His answer -- "Once. Only kidding" was actually 100% truthful.

It's a great show, all three seasons (I think it's three). Brilliantly written, brilliant actors, brilliant bit of dark humor and violence. It's heartfelt and mature yet boyish and playful, it's absolutely delightful and should have been platformed on the international circuit with far more effort than what FX has done. Australia showcased a truly good show with this bad boy. Can't get over the fact that the actor playing the protagonist is both show creator and writer on this masterful slice of television, I just hope he makes it big enough to headline more of his genius on a larger scale. The man has a lot of fire in him, the stuff of magic. Couldn't give it more of a praise, more of a recommendation. It's thoroughly entertaining and hits every note just right for a late night drama/comedy.
