Mirza hears Razia's plea and puts his sword down. Iltutmish narrates his version of the events. The death of Mirza's father was an accident. Mirza's mother had a delusion that Iltutmish wanted to kill her and her son. Iltutmish learns that Razia is aware of his health condition. Mirza's mother is sure that her son will avenge her husband's death by killing Iltutmish, but Yaqut plants doubts in her mind. After learning the truth, Mirza walks away into the forest.
